The Samsung SGH-T409 is a wifi-capable flip phone with 21 MB of internal user memory. The internal 65K TFT color display features 128 by 160 pixel resolution, and the resolution of the external 4 gray display is 96 by 96 pixels. The 1.3 megapixel camera features 4x digital zoom with auto focus, adjustable brightness and timer. The user can choose from among various effects, including negative, sketch and aqua, as well as from different picture qualities, such as SXGA and SQCIF.
It comes with 40 polyphonic ringtones. The cell phone is also able to use MP3s as ringtones, and is equipped with OMA. Five Java games are included, as well as embedded wallpaper and the ability to download more Java products from the Internet. The Samsung SGH-T409 weighs 3.1 oz and measures 3.3″ high, 1.7″ wide and 0.94″ thick.
The phone comes equipped with MyFaves(SM) as well as SMS, EMS and MMS messaging capability. Cell broadcast is also included, as are vCard/vCalendar and instant messaging. The handset phonebook holds up to 1000 entries, and the SIM card hold up to 250 additional names or numbers. Predictive text input makes fast texting easy. Call cost/call time allow the user to keep track of expenses as they talk, and the Samsung SGH-T409 keeps track of the last 30 missed, dialed or received calls.
It operates on the GSM 1900, 1800, 850 MHz bands. Users can talk for up to 5 hours, and the phone will stand by for up to 200 hours. The phone will interface with Bluetooth technology and USBs, as well as communicate with the user’s PC through PC Sync Application. Wifi is available over the UMA network and WAP is included. The phone also includes a wide array of Personal Information Management features, including calendar and alarm.
